Turn MTS test logs into something useful

Import MOT Testing Service test logs into MOT Lens and see tests by tester, site and vehicle — with attention signals that highlight evidence for human review.

The problem

Every MOT station gets test logs from the MOT Testing Service. Most download the CSV, open it in Excel, and never look at it again — or spend hours manually filtering columns to spot anything unusual.

How MOT Lens handles it

MOT Lens imports the same test logs your station already receives and organises them into something you can actually work with.

  • Tests by tester, site and vehicle — filter instantly instead of scrolling a spreadsheet.
  • Attention signals — short tests, out-of-hours activity, contingency context, unusual patterns that deserve a second look.
  • Vehicle and test history context — see a vehicle's station tests alongside its wider DVSA MOT history.
  • AE review trail — record what you checked and what action you took, connected to the test.

Important

MOT Lens highlights evidence for human review. It does not automatically label a tester or station non-compliant.

Example workflow

  1. Download your MTS test log CSV (monthly or as needed).
  2. Upload to MOT Lens.
  3. MOT Lens organises and flags attention items.
  4. Review flagged tests, record your notes.
  5. The review trail stays connected to the tester, vehicle and site.

Who this is for

  • Authorised Examiners reviewing test activity
  • Site managers monitoring daily operations
  • Anyone responsible for MOT quality evidence
