The problem

Your MOT data shouldn’t live in a folder.

MTS test logs. TQI files. QC records. Training paperwork. Calibration certificates. Bookings. Separate spreadsheets. Separate folders.

MOT Lens brings the operational picture together — so the AE or Site manager can see what needs attention without hunting through six different places.

Not more data.

The right things to look at.

Quality work, tests requiring review, QC follow-up, TQI updates, training, equipment and bookings — surfaced for human action, not automatic compliance judgement.

Product

Six connected pillars. One workspace.

Important: MOT Lens highlights evidence for human review. It does not automatically label a tester or station non-compliant.

Built for the people actually responsible for the MOT operation.

MOT Lens isn’t trying to replace your accounting package or parts catalogue. It’s built around running the MOT side properly.

Developed alongside a working testing station — not in a vacuum.

Questions

Straight answers for MOT sites

What is MOT station management software?

Software that helps Authorised Examiners and site managers run the operational and quality side of an MOT testing station — test logs, TQI, QC, tester records, equipment, site evidence and bookings — without replacing the MOT Testing Service itself.

Does MOT Lens connect directly to MTS?

MOT Lens imports the test-log and TQI data your station already receives from the MOT Testing Service. There is no live API integration with MTS — you upload the exports as needed.

Does MOT Lens replace the DVSA MOT Testing Service?

No. MOT Lens is management software for the garage. Official MOT tests are still carried out in the MOT Testing Service. MOT Lens records are operational and quality evidence, not an MTS replacement.

Does MOT Lens decide whether a tester is compliant?

No. MOT Lens highlights evidence for human review — unusual patterns, TQI differences, open quality items. It does not automatically label a tester or station non-compliant.

What is TQI?

Test Quality Information — data DVSA publishes so AEs can compare their station's testing patterns against national averages. MOT Lens imports and visualises this data as comparison evidence.

Can I manage multiple VTSs?

Yes. MOT Lens supports multi-site organisations with site-specific permissions, testers and evidence — plus a central control centre showing attention items across all your sites.

Can MOT Lens store training records?

Yes. Each tester has a profile with training years, hours, topics, annual assessments, QC history and TQI context — all connected.

Does MOT Lens include online MOT booking?

Yes. Customers can book online (request or instant depending on your settings), track their booking status, and manage their vehicle through a portal. Staff manage the desk diary and board internally.

Can customers see their booking status?

Yes. A customer portal shows booking status and vehicle details. Internal statuses stay separate — you control what the customer sees.

Does MOT Lens show DVSA MOT history?

Yes. Each vehicle shows its wider official DVSA MOT history alongside the station's own test records and bookings — so you see the full picture in one place.

What is the difference between station tests and MOT history?

Station tests are the MOT work your station carried out (imported from MTS logs). MOT history is the vehicle's full official record across all stations (from DVSA). MOT Lens shows both, connected to the same vehicle.

How do I get a MOT Lens account?

Staff accounts are invited by the organisation. There is no public sign-up. Contact MOT Lens if you want to talk about onboarding your sites.

Is MOT Lens official DVSA software?

No. MOT Lens is independent garage software. It helps you manage MOT operations and evidence. It is not a DVSA product.
