The problem
A vehicle arrives at the station. To understand its context you might need to check MTS for its history, your booking system for previous appointments, your own test logs, and maybe a customer record in a spreadsheet. That's four places before you've done anything.
How MOT Lens handles it
Open a vehicle and see its operational context in one view:
- Bookings — past and upcoming appointments at your station.
- Station tests — MOT tests your station carried out (imported from MTS logs).
- Official DVSA MOT history — the vehicle's full national record across all stations.
- Current customer relationships — who the vehicle is currently linked to.
The relationship
Vehicle
├── Bookings
├── Station tests (your station's MTS imports)
├── Official DVSA MOT history (all stations)
└── Current customers
Important distinctions
- Station tests are your station's imported MTS test-log evidence. MOT history is the vehicle's national record and may include tests at other garages.
- Customer links show current relationships. They do not prove historical ownership.
- There is no automatic match between a booking and a specific MOT test. Vehicle records bring together bookings and station-test context.
Who this is for
- Front desk staff checking vehicle context before a booking
- AEs reviewing a vehicle's station history
- Anyone wanting the full picture without switching systems
